Trump claims an assassination attempt on him occurred during a rally, killing the gunman and a bystander.
After a shooter sitting on the top of an adjacent building opened fire during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday, the former president Donald Trump claims he was hit in the ear. The FBI classified the terrifying event as an attempted assassination.
One spectator died and two others were gravely injured in the incident, which rocked the nation on the eve of the Republican National Convention and caused mayhem. Shots erupted as the former president was speaking, and Trump fell to the ground with his hand to his ear, surrounded by agents. Amid the crowd’s astonishment and screaming, he hurried off the platform and into a waiting car.
There is an increased level of threat surrounding the incident, which is being looked into by the FBI under the direction of the National Security Division of the Justice Department and the Pittsburgh U.S. Attorney’s office.[2]
